Billiard Supplies, Billiards Chalk.

If you are reading this you most likely have played at least some pool or billiards game. When playing the game you will find out how important the right kind of billiard chalk can be real fast. I have used a few brands that did not help prevent the miss cue at all.

Isn't it frustrating when you are on the run out and you miss cue because of some inferior billiards chalk?

When it comes to your billiard supplies, I personally think chalk is one of the most important supplies. I trust and play with "Masters Chalk" if at all possible.

It is the best and most consistent type I have ever used. I play in quite a few small town taverns and sometimes they have no chalk or a chalk that may as well not exist. I try to keep a cube or 2 in my trail blazer (vehicle) and in my pool cue case.

If I do not have my vehicle or cue case, I will simply not play pool without decent chalk. I have used a few other types that worked OK, but Masters is my number 1 choice for Billiards Chalk. I recently bought 2 cubes of chalk on eBay which is supposed to be good for jump cues. I will write an article on the results achieved with this so called jump cue chalk.

If you use Masters Chalk and you miss cue often, I would bet that the tip of your cue needs scuffed. The right kind of tip is also important. This will be the subject of a future article. If your cue tip is mushroomed and hanging over the sides of the ferrule, Replace it.

Keeping your cue tip in good shape and using Masters Billiards Chalk should keep the dreaded miss cue to a minimum. There is nothing worse than a miss cue stopping a nice run out.
